I greet participants in the first in the history international youth program
«Artificial satellite – 40 years into the space era» implemented by pupils from Russia
and France.
On October 4, 1957, this country launched the first in the world artificial
satellite of the Earth that inaugurated a new space era. Indeed, this day became a great
occasion to all the mankind. It crowned the aspiration of progressively thinking
people to overcome the Earth’s gravity in order to explore the Universe.
I am happy that 40 years since that day pupils took part in building a working
model of the first artificial satellite of the Earth. Its insertion into near-Earth orbit
during the egress of cosmonauts into open space will remind the world of the great
achievement of our time that is human breakthrough into space.
I maintain that it is not only thrilling but prospective line of youth education. It
will be able to invite many gifted children to the research and technical work and
grow them into high-grade specialists. This starting of Russia and France can serve
an example to young people of other countries and aid to the development of
international youth ties in the area of science and technology.
Launch of the first satellite by pupils is an extraordinary event. I wish all the
participants in the first in the history international youth program «Artificial satellite
– 40 years into the space era» new accomplishments on future youth space programs!
